Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report talks to Andy Ngô, author of “Unmasked: Inside Antifa's Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy”, to get answers to many questions including “What is Antifa?” ”Why have media institutions like the New York Times been sympathetic to Antifa’s mission?” and “How is Antifa allowed to do it’s fundraising out in the open?” Andy first discusses how he got involved in journalism and how he started profiling the Portland Antifa chapter and the Portland riots. He discusses how the movement started on university campuses and after the 2016 election of Donald Trump spilled out into society. He shares how violence from the far-left has continued to be justified by people believing that it is in the service of antiracism and antifascism. Antifa is simply a radical assortment of anarchist and communist protesters whose goal is ending capitalism, that is why their “solutions” to problems like police brutality are extreme positions like “defund the police”. Andy discusses how the ideas of identity politics, social justice and equity that dominate academia have slipped into government and mainstream media. This explains why there has been a strong media bias in news organizations like the New York Times and the Washington Post that sympathize with Antifa leading to mainstream justifications of the looting and riots that we saw after the death of George Floyd. This normalization of political violence on the far-left also fuels violence on the far right. The double standards become very clear when comparing the destructive riots and looting done by BLM in the name of social justice to the media's treatment of protesters who stormed the Capitol building. Andy also discusses the Antifa attack he was subjected to that led to a brain hemorrhage. Andy shares the various scare tactics that Antifa uses to intimidate and silence it’s critics. He describes what a “cyberswarm” is and how it has been used to intimidate him as well as Portland mayor Ted Wheeler. Andy shares how the Portland Police have done virtually nothing to protect him, even when he has been able to identify those involved in threatening him. Andy also sheds light on how Antifa use crowdfunding sites like gofundme to raise money for getting Antifa criminals out on bail.
