Take night photos on your phone like a pro with these quick tips.

1) Pick your framing carefully. Is the background more, less or equally as important as your main subject?
2) Most phone cameras have a night mode. Make sure you select it.
3) Manually extend the shutter speed to its maximum duration. This will aid the sharpness of your focus, capture extra ambient light, and works great for shooting a stationary subject like this Audi e-tron GT quattro, with passing cars leaving their light trails.
4) If possible, shoot in a camera RAW format to make editing easier in post-production.
5) It’s vital to lock in your focus and exposure before taking the shot so there’s no risk of soft focus.
6) Use a tripod with a phone mount to help stabilise the shot.
7) Use portable LED lights to highlight specific details. We used two small panels here to give some background pop to the front and rear wheels.
