NYC Gandhi Statue Toppled by Vandals

NYPD released surveillance footage from August 3, 2022, of three men who toppled a statue of Mahatma Gandhi at a Hindu temple located in Queens, NY. State Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar, a representative of the community stated at a meeting about the damage, "Hinduism is not just about tolerance, Hinduism is about a step more than tolerance. It is about actively loving people from different backgrounds.” NYPD is investigating this vandalism with its Hate Crimes Task Force, though a motive has not been found.
